FORWARD: As of today you can see the futue of Mongolia.
The analysis of the first Living Standard Measurement Survey (LSMS) provided a profile of the poor and identified the most vulnerable groups in the country. More than 800,000 people or 36 percent of the population are poor. The assessment shows that female-headed households have a higher incidence of poverty, as do the unemployed and rural households owning less than 15 animals. Urban poverty is marginally higher than rural poverty, particularly in provincial capitals that have been hard hit by the closing of state enterprises. Private transfers provide a significant source of expenditures in poor households, accounting for nearly 20 percent of total expenditures. Without these private transfers, the poverty rate would increase to 46 percent of the population. The survey found that there is a strong correlation between unemployment and poverty with 58 percent of the unemployed being poor. Unemployment is a particularly difficult problem in both the urban and rural areas. In addition to the 100,000 currently unemployed, the economy will need to absorb 30,000 public sector employees made redundant as a result of civil service reform. Also, over 25,000 people enter the labor market annually. Among the rural poor, 35 percent of the very poor and 14 percent of the poor are unemployed. Among the urban poor, the situation is even worse with 55 percent of the very poor and 34 percent of the poor being unemployed. As you see it, there is no chance to keep this country alive in next 50 years, if this situation continues. Unemployement, crimes, thieves, dirty politicians, and victims like street kids, our kids will be victims of this people who call themselves politicians, in fact they are real thieves. They steal foods from these street kids, how could they do it? They can do it just because they are greedy bastards.
I would highly appreciate if you leave your comments. Your comments will be highly apprecited and would be very important for all of us
The first flakes of snow begin to fall. The wind is getting colder. Winter is coming. Soon the temperature will plunge to - 40° C. Two boys with chilled faces descend into a manhole in the ground. Their names are Bagii and Itgel. They are street kids, and this is their home.
